The Wildcats complete the double! - 29/06/10
After competing for a consecutive 4 seasons and narrowly missing out on the top spot on each occasion, the Wilsden Wildcats have finally won the league, and in some style! Not only were they crowned champions of the league, they also won the cup tournament held at Challenge College in Bradford last week. A huge congratulations goes out to the team, and a special well done to their captain Michelle. If you would like to enter a team, the new season which takes place at Challenge College on Wednesday nights will be restarting in the next week or so. Contact us today! (0113) 2781300.

Thank you to Leeds Met University & Headingley Stadium - 18/05/10
Special thanks must go to Headingley Stadium for hosting the Pudsey presentation night. The feedback from the teams was great, and it seems everyone had a good night. I am sure Online Events will be returning at the end of this season. Another special thank you goes to Leeds Metropolitan University for letting the Pudsey netball league play in their spectacular Netball Superleague sports hall this coming season. It will give the players a chance to play on the home ground of the superleague netball team Leeds Met Carnegie. The state of the art sports hall which has a floor designed especially for playing netball will be host to the league over the coming weeks. I would like to take this opportunity as an old Leeds Met netballer to say thank you to my coach at that time - Gerry, for making this happen. Thank you!

It's all happening this week! - 16/05/10
This week sees the restart of both the Pudsey and Banbury leagues. On top of that Online Events has started a new outdoor summer league in Leeds. So welcome to all the new teams who have joined us for the first time, and welcome back to all the veteran teams! Some of who have now been playing in Online Events leagues for over a year - now that's dedication! There will be lots of netballs flying around this week...good luck to all the teams for the start of their seasons.

The Shirley's are at it again... - 13/05/10
A thrilling finals night at the Pudsey netball league took place a few weekends ago, and two times cup winners and defending champions The Shirley's were out in force to reclaim the number one spot. It was all going smoothly for the reigning premiership champions until Team Zodiac had something to say about it! The match was a close encounter right up until the final whistle. Both teams let chances go begging with missed shots at either end. But it was Team Zodiac who finally got one over on their rivals by winning the game 9-8. The cup was in Zodiacs reach for the first time in their history, however matches against JLD and Mavericks proved challenging and Zodiac could only manage to pick up a draw in each. This meant The Shirleys final victory in the tournament once again crowned them Pudsey Cup champions, winning by the smallest of margins with only one point separating them from Zodiac. Team Captain Justine Baxby said of the win "We didn't actually realise we had won until later that night! We didn't know Zodiac had drawn 2 of their games so it was a big surprise when we were told we'd won! The girls did really well, and we're really happy to reclaim the cup! The umpires did a fantastic job on the night and thank you again to Online Events for organising another great season"

Shirleys, Pugsters and Mavericks triumph - 22/3/10
Congratulations to The Shirley's who have won the Pudsey leagues premiership division for the 3rd season in a row! They had some very close encounters with the likes of much improved teams such as Zodiac and Merger snapping at their heels all season. Division 1 has been won by consecutive time champions in their respective division the Pugsters who have sat at the top of their division for the majority of the season. The fight for promotion could have gone to a number of teams with Division 1 being so tightly contested all season and it was Leeds Met Ladies who battled through to clinch the 2nd promotion spot. Last but certainly not least, congratulations to Mavericks 2 and 3 who have both secured promotion this season. And it was Mavericks 3rds who finished on top of Division 2 and secured their champion status. Well done ladies!

M&N defend their cup title - 25/1/10
Last night in Banbury Oxfordshire, BGN school was the setting of a nail biting tournament for cup finals night. League winners Vixens were favourites going into the night, with both M&N and Banbury Blues A (who finished 2nd and 3rd in Division 1 respectivley) breathing down their necks for a chance to be crowned cup champions. It was however the Division 2 teams that shone last night. Hook Norton almost stole victory against Vixens with some accurate shooting from both GS and GA, but narrowly missed out eventually losing the game by just one goal. The shock result of the night came from a determined Mellow Birds who pulled off a 9-8 victory against Vixens and may have won the tounrament if it wasn't for a loss to a much improved Harlequins team. Vixens battled on and managed to seal a victory against close rivals M&N, but it wasn't enough and M&N went on to defend their title as Banbury Cup Champions - congratulations! And well done to everyone who took park last night.
